Welcome to Hydro-Pilates

Hydro-Pilates™ are non-impact strengthening and stretching movements that require precise breathing and muscle control. Mind-body focus in gradual methodical placement and movement uses moves from yoga, modern dance, and gymnastics.

Most of the stresses and fatigue are the result of poor posture, imbalances in the body and incorrect breathing patterns. Pilates initiates all the movements from the abdominal, lower back, hips and buttocks and flows outward to the extremities. Movement control is essential and begins with redefining the torso. As you simultaneously stretch and strengthen the body, you create a habit of relaxed effort to follow. Instead of developing bulky muscles, you create a more streamlined shape. Practicing Pilates in water develops trunk stabilization, helps correct posture, enhances muscle strength and relieves stress.

Ann Anthony was the Class Director of The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, FL before creating Hydro-Pilates™. She has decades of experience in the Fitness Industry. Her classes are very popular at The Biltmore Fitness Center and have been featured on Deco DriveTelemundo and Univision.
